Xiaolan Town, Zhongshan City is located in the central part of the 1-hour economic circle of the Pearl River Delta, an important transportation node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with obvious geographical advantages. Xiaolan Town has a solid industrial foundation, high degree of industrial agglomeration, and distinct industrial characteristics. The town has a total of more than 40,000 market entities, among which, there are more than 14,000 manufacturing enterprises, and private economic entities account for more than 99%. Xiaolan Town has five national industrial clusters: China Hardware Products Industrial Base, China Underwear Famous Town, China Electronic Sound Industry Base, China Intelligent Lock Industrial Base, and China Semiconductor Intelligent Lighting Innovation Base. There are currently 420 large-scale industrial enterprises, and a good situation of comprehensive development has been formed in industries such as intelligent locks, LED new light sources, hardware products, electronic appliances and audio, food and beverages, chemical adhesives, clothing and footwear, printing and packaging. The hardware industry is Xiaolan's traditional advantageous industry, with more than 5,000 enterprises and an annual output value of 25.6 billion yuan. Not only is Xiaolan the export base of Chinese hardware products (Xiaolan locks), it is also the largest global production base for casters.

In order to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of Xiaolan's traditional advantageous industries, build a demonstration town for smart manufacturing, promote the "machine substitution" project, and help manufacturing enterprises improve their level of industrial automation. The Xiaolan Light Industry Machinery Exhibition is scheduled to be held in Xiaolan Town every late October.
