Palais des congrès de Montréal
Palais des congrès de Montréal
The Palais des congrès de Montréal is a convention center located at the northern end of Old Montreal, on the Palais des congrès expressway, which connects to the Palais station of the Montreal Metro and the underground city of Montreal. The palace was completed in May 1983, resulting in the downsizing of Montreal's Chinatown, while also building the "Guy-Favreau" duplex apartments. From 1999 to 2002, the palace underwent an expansion that doubled its capacity. Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, it is connected by indoor corridors to 4,000 hotel rooms. The Palais des congrès de Montréal covers an area of 200,000 square feet, with an exhibition area of 19,000 square meters, 65 meeting rooms, and 18 loading docks. It is only 20 kilometers away from the international airport and can be reached by car or public transportation. Many events are held here every year, such as the Montreal International Auto Show, which attracts 200,000 visitors annually. Since 2012, the Montreal International Animation Film Festival has been held here every July, attracting over 50,000 visitors each year. In 2017, the Harvard World Model United Nations Conference was held here.
