Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center

Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center is a large modern exhibition venue invested and constructed by the Ningbo municipal government. It is the core exhibition area of the Ningbo International Trade Exhibition Center. Located in the center of Ningbo's six districts, it is the core area of Ningbo's eastern new city business district, with convenient transportation. It is only 5 kilometers away from the entrance of the Hangzhou-Ningbo-Hangzhou Expressway; 18 kilometers away from Beilun Port, China's second largest port; directly connected to the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, only 2 hours' drive from Shanghai, one of China's major metropolises.

Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center covers an area of 44.4 hectares, with a total construction area of 140,000 square meters, an exhibition area of 90,000 square meters. It mainly consists of eight surrounding regular exhibition halls and other ten buildings such as the conference building and business building, providing nearly 5,000 international standard booths. Each exhibition hall is independent yet interconnected, forming a functional layout that can accommodate large, medium, and small-scale exhibitions.

In front of the main entrance of the south gate of Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center, there is a large exhibition square. In the middle of the axis of the square stands a 72-meter high arrow-shaped landmark tower, known as the "Peg of the Sea." The needle pierces the sky, echoing with the bow-shaped main exhibition hall, symbolizing the upward development of the Ningbo Exhibition Center.

The total investment in Phase I and Phase II exhibition halls of Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center is 1.04 billion yuan, mainly undertaken by Ningbo International Trade Investment Development Co., Ltd. for the development, construction, and management operation of the entire Ningbo International Trade Exhibition Center. Ningbo International Trade Investment Development Co., Ltd. (referred to as Guotou Company) was established in February 2006. The registered capital of Guotou Company is 1.8 billion yuan, with total assets of 3.2 billion yuan RMB. Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center is managed and operated by Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guotou Company.

Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center is a window to showcase Ningbo's economy, culture, history, and development level. Since its completion and commissioning in 2002, it has successfully hosted more than 300 domestic and international exhibitions. The successful hosting of large-scale well-known exhibitions such as the Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair, the China International Consumer Goods Fair, the Ningbo International Clothing Festival, the China Food Fair, the Higher Education Instrument Equipment Fair, and the China Pharmaceutical Machinery Fair has attracted high attention in the industry, making it a highly favored exhibition hall among second-tier exhibition cities.

Since 2004, after Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center was first awarded the title of 'Best Exhibition Venue in Chinese Exhibition Industry', it has continuously received honors such as 'Top Ten Excellent Convention Centers in China', 'Most Attention-Grabbing Exhibition Hall', 'National Top Ten Convention Centers', 'China Exhibition Industry Best Management Award for Exhibition Halls', and 'China Exhibition Industry Best Venue Award'. To this end, Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center has gradually explored a distinctive path suitable for its own development.

The Ningbo municipal government has designated the exhibition industry as a strategic industry for the development of Ningbo city. Ningbo International Convention and Exhibition Center is the core area of the business convention area in the eastern new city of Ningbo, an important part of the Ningbo International Trade Exhibition Center, and will work together with the Ningbo International Financial Service Center and the Ningbo International Shipping Service Center to form an important platform for Ningbo's modern service industry.
